The Kruckenbergs: Brian, Gina, Faith(8), Elijah(6), Bella(3)

In many ways, the concept behind day|twelve has been growing in our hearts for the past 10 years. In short the message of day|twelve is one of risk-taking and unrelenting obedience to the cause of Jesus Christ. Since trusting God with our lives in early 2000, this has been a guiding theme of our lives and this message will shape our ministry. The idea for the name ”day twelve” comes from the story (found in Deuteronomy 1) of God calling His people to enter the Promised Land. The Bible teaches that it was an eleven day journey from where the people were to the place where they were to enter the land. On day twelve they should have begun the battle for that promised land. But, they wandered for 40 years, or by simple calculation, 14,600 days! That’s quite a detour. We believe that too many people live their lives the same way: wandering through the desert, never venturing into the life God has promised them. Forty years go by and many wonder where life went. No more of that. day|twelve will be about engaging the battle for the “promised land” God has for all of us.This life or “promised land” does not mean there will not be difficult and challenging times. Actually, God ensures us that there will be a battle for the life He calls us to live. The call to the “promised land” is what we will challenge people to seek and what waits is a life that is lived for the service of others. That is a life of purpose and meaning.
