I mentioned a few weeks ago that we might have an Easter service and that “might have” has turned into a “will have!” On Easter Sunday, April 4th, we will be having our first official serviced at 3 pm in the Phoenix Theater! I know, 3 pm is such an obvious time to have a service, right? Well, that time was chosen for a few reasons but the biggest reason we have chosen this time is so we can invite all of you to the service (regardless of where your “home” church might be) and invite you to our neighborhood, which is just a few blocks from the theater, after the service (beginning at 4:30) for some food and hang out time. We will have a couple of bounce houses for the younger kids and have some food and drink for everyone. We are praying that having the gathering at this time will allow anyone who wants to come to be there and will be a good time for our neighborhood to see what we are up to. We will be spreading the word and we’d love for you to help! Here’s how:
- Getting the word out: for those who are Facebook and Twitter friends, please help out by publicizing the event electronically.
- For those less e-social media minded, I will have some post cards/flyers next week and if you’d like to get your hands on a couple, just contact us. For those who work in the downtown or midtown Phoenix area, be praying about who from your office might like to come.
- If you are interested in serving, either for the service (set-up, kids ministry (we will be doing a couple of rooms for younger kids), greeting) or at our house (bringing food, helping set up, etc.) then please contact us!
We continue to build relationships in the community and each day meet more people in the area. God is growing our hearts for the people and I pray that He continues to do so. Phoenix is a great city, made up of great people, and so many of them don’t know about the Greatest Gift of all. We pray that God will use us to spread the Gospel and this Easter service is just the beginning.
