This journey and “idea” for planting a church started with little more than a whisper from God calling us to try something new. From my first conversation with Gina to the first time I went “public” with this idea, I sensed God was with us. There have been times where things weren’t clear at all…times of excitement, doubt, faith and fear. Regardless of my “feelings,” God consistently reminds us He is in this and He has weaved together a pretty cool journey to this point…and it has only been four months! What lies ahead? Who knows!
What I do know is that the vision is sharpening and our target is nearly defined and we are blessed to have many people who are praying for us and who are supporting us in other ways. God has brought many relationships into our lives that are a complete blessing. I’m mentoring, being mentored and being a friend and peer to as many as I can. Just yesterday I spent the day with the president of a church planting organization; he flew out to see the downtown/midtown area of Phoenix and to sort of “feel it out.” As part of his trip, I was able to introduce him to part of my local network and a key leader within Vision Arizona, a local church planting organization we’ve been working with during this process. I could only sit back and thank God for what He is allowing us to be a part of; it seems like nearly each day, we have those little God moments.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Feb 6th, from 2-5pm we are having an open-house gathering in our new home in the downtown Phoenix area. If you would like to come hear more about what day|twelve is going to be about or just hangout and catch up, we’d love to see you and let you see the area. Just CONTACT US and we’ll get directions to you!
ps: for those who can make it, please bring along any blankets, jackets or coats you don’t need; there is a population of homeless in phx that could use those things to keep warm and it makes no sense for someone to be cold while we have mounds of extras in our closets. love you all.
