As part of our church planter’s assessment it was suggested that Gina and I visit a couple of ministries in New York City. Our “lead assessor” thought we could learn from them and so we felt strongly that we should find a way to make this happen. Besides, if you know me…it was really difficult convincing me that it was a good idea to take a trip to NYC. So, we connected with a few people and we were able to work out a trip coming up in January. We will be visiting Forefront Church and Redeemer Presbyterian where Tim Keller serves as the lead pastor. In addition, we will be meeting with some church planters who have done ministry in more of an urban context and I am anxious to learn from them. Needless to say, we are excited about this opportunity and feel blessed to go. We appreciate your prayers for wisdom…please also pray for our kids, well maybe pray more for grandma and grandpa who are in charge of them while we are gone for a few days. Can’t wait to pass along what we learn in NYC…
Shouldn’t you take the film crew with you? You’re going to need a still photographer to document the whole thing at least!
awesome to hear! tim keller is amazing. saw him at a conference in NYC called The Q a few yrs ago. enjoy your time. i know God’s gonna use it well when you bring it back to PHX.
